As one who is in the same boat, I find that I must agree to wait, even though I already have a ring in waiting.
It is like being a little kid who has to take some bad tasting medicine or being told by my mother I couldn't do something. Ultimately it was for my own good and she knew better and...
Link?
Where can we find this?
Found some others: http://www.weofm.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=69&Itemid=67 But did not find this specific one.
Oooops! . . . found it. Have to scroll down on the home page. Duh . . .
While being one of the new kids on the block, something tells me that this becomes more of the norm the further west you go in Texas. What works in Dallas and Houston is not likely work as well, if at all, in the smaller places like those in the Panhandle, South Plains, and far West Texas.
Got one of those for my better half
Being and EA, I don't think I have been around long enough to really say much intelligently about it. But, the blue slipper pin aside, it would seem to me that it, even in such a small way, it further enables the argument, perhaps in the future and through...
How does the York Rite confer their degrees?
Is it that you wait a certain amount of time between degrees and are tested like in the Blue Lodge or is it more like the Scottish Rite where you watch plays?
How long does it typically take to work through the degrees?
I bet the GL of Texas would be a good place to start. If they have it in a form such as Excel or Access then, I would think, it is likely that other Grand Lodges would have the same, along with the Scottish Rite, Commaderies, etc. Nearly every GL site I have ever seen has a lodge locator.
I have the app as well. However, the first thing I noticed with it was that the Lubbock Scottish Rite information is incorrect. I sent an email to the app developer with the correct info but, there hasn't been an update. I don't know how many more errors, if any, are there but be aware that...
Would it be fair to say that human nature being what it is furnishes that emotion whether we like it or not and as long as we are willing check it at the door of the lodge while we learn to subdue our passions, that is what is expected?
I have read both threads started by the Grand Commander of Texas and must say that I was both intrigued and startled by the responses in those threads. I am an EA working on my proficiency work but, before I turned in my petition I researched Freemasonry pretty thoroughly and thought that when...
I have read both of the recent threads regarding the Commandery that were started by the Grand Commander in Texas. As an EA, I am both intrigued and startled at the responses in each thread. Before I petitioned, I researched Freemasonry in pretty good detail and I thought future participation...
I too have Freemasons for Dummies and The Idiot's Guide to Freemasonry. I read them prior to submitting my petition. I think they are both very good and as one mentioned earlier, complemented each other well and were especially useful to me for learning about Freemasonry from the standpoint of...
I lived in Amarillo for 15yrs 81-95. I liked Amarillo. Reminded me of a small, big town and Lubbock sometimes reminds me of a big, small town.
So, does anyone have any advice, tips or tricks to learning the degree work for EA? I hear it is the most difficult of the three.
Hello Brothers,
As of tonight, I am a newly initiated Entered Apprentice Mason. I am from the Lubbock Lodge #1392 in Lubbock, TX. I look forward to many conversations with brothers from Texas and elsewhere!
