I don’t think that’s real silver. There’s no Mark. Also who cares what it’s worth. It’s super cool and the fact that the lady felt you worthy to have it if you were to sell it you would be disrespecting her and her father

I suspect it’s pewter, It’s value is what someone would pay for it.

The $400 one, was that an asking price or had it actually been sold?

That is certainly a unique item. I collected Masonic and Shrine memorabilia for many years and never saw anything like that. In those years I never paid more than $15.00 for an item, that was my limit. And, usually when I saw something it was priced way below that figure. About a year ago I sold the entire collection to a museum and did make a small profit on the transaction. I suggest you just keep it for a conversation piece. Sell value is near zip. Sorry.

I was really surprised to be in Sydney Australia at Craft GL's and to see several very cool Shrine decanters. They'd be great collectables because they were colourful, interesting masonic items. The Shrine only has Shrine Clubs in Australia (Working under AAHMES CA) so its tiny and the items predated the clubs by decades... I guess that's one of the joys of being in a place full or immigrants, lots of stuff from over seas.... but the Shrine always has good merchandise, and its seems like a long tradition !

We have one in Brass on the secretaries desk. I just checked flea bay and they have a brass one for $19.00. Very nice gift.

The Shrine had to change its name from the Shrine of North America to Shrine International because shrine centers had now been opened in Europe. Give it time and we'll spread enough to open centers there as well.
