My First Meeting

Blake Bowden

Tonight was my first meeting not being in the East. I'm now the Junior Deacon ;) What have I learned?

I've learned an important lesson. My travels are like a Mullet, it was all business in the front (East), but now party in the back! Had a great time :)

That's a great way to look at it, brother. I appreciate the insight.

I believe the true mark of one who holds the seat in the East is the good sense to vacate the chair when it comes time.

Not sure if Brother George Washington said it in so many words, but we should have all gotten the drift.

:sneaky2:

Congratulations Brother Blake. Welcome to the group of "Has Beens". I know that I treasure my year as Master. But, I don't know if I want to do it again. I'm now a DDGM and that keeps me very busy. Some day I will learn to say "no". I doubt it though.

By the way, the California past masters emblem is different than every other state except New York. We don't have the square in our emblem. That is reserved for a Past Grand Master in California. I found out the hard way. I bought a nice emblem on a gold chain and wore it to lodge one night. One of my dear brothers informed me that I was wearing a PGM emblem. Won't do that again.

Right Worshipful, congratulations on your new post. Be sure to get as much sleep as possible and take those vitamins!

Say, was that wise council ... WHISPERED ... in your ear. Or, did it come as so often the case.

Good to know though: very good to find out early.:blushing:
