Milk in small glass bottles with straws in school! School Patrol boys used as crossing guards. Proud owner of the Vic20 computer with 5k of ram! Even had cassette tape as external storage! LOL
Yet again another way that our GLoT can make some money to help with the upkeep of our GLoT building. I wonder why this hasn't been suggested, decided & approved to begin making immediately. Having over 800 lodges in our great state this indeed could get needed revenue to help in rising costs...
Sometimes I wonder what God would say about all this bickering among his children that ALL belong to him. All these churches everywhere..... These houses of worship (catholic, baptist, penticost, methodist, jewish, nondenom, they ALL belong to him. It's shameful that senior leadership (Pope...
We have a professional Trumpeter in our Lodge. A very good one with high credentials (played several times @ White House, also with Tony Bennett, Herp Albert, Ella Fitzgerald, & even had his orchestra on old "Dallas" TV series(Baron's Ball) several times. Our original "Ameritus" musician still...
Why not make the GLoT mobile in that it's held at different locations every December? The museum & other permanent artifacts could be placed in a much smaller place (or even build one). Annual meeting could be held in convention centers in different cities. The savings woud be awesome. Kind of...
And so a decision is made for Arkansas shriners during the annual Shriners convention in Indianapolis. I wonder if this is going to cause "after shocks". So much for internal politics and alter ego's. Ultimately the recipents with the most to lose are the charities that both fraternaties support...
Re: Gay and Bi Brother Masons
I think what bothers me most of all this topic us using the word "gay". Persons who prefer same sex partners are either Homosexual or Lesbian.... That's all there is to it. The word "gay" was a perfectly good word in tge English language thst meant happy about...
Personally, I find all this apalling & embarrassing toward Masons in general. All this due to Power & Politics & "I'll show you what I can do if you piss me off". Kinda puts us (Masonry) at "One giant step BACKWARDS for mankind. I'm sure this is going to be a MAJOR topic in Indianapolis next...
An interesting topic came up with a few brothers this past weekend. A few of them are Past Masters & one made a comment about not approving (or favorable vote) if he knew or discovered a petitioner was a homosexual. I personally don't agree with that lifestyle, but more important in this case...
I got mine last year too. Just disappointed of the cost for "special" plates thru the State. One would think that the initial fee to create & register in to the system would be enough, but the same price continues each year. Doesn't really make sense at all, but must be part of the "stimulus"...
Sadly this is what I mentioned on another posting. Times are hard, dues are rising & older persons are on a fixed income. Some may have to choose between food, medicine or dues. Others here don't agree & say that senior persons should have more since homes & cars should be paid... I personally...
Re: Shrine...Yay or Neh
Rumor has it that FL is following SC in the issue with GLoArkansas hoopla. I've heard this is going to be a high topic of discussion during Imperial Shrine meet in June.
We can agree to disagree & that's OK. Just as there may be many that are "better off" as seniors, there are probably just as many not in that GROUP. I guess it all depends on what side of the fence one stands or the demographics where one resides. I just think that there are many that can't...
I do understand about inflation & membership, but the flip side is that older members (not only in age, but long time members) don't have the same type of income as younger members. Fact is that none of this appears to matter only that more money is needed to maintain the same lifestyle of a...
My disappointment in the SR of Texas in the anount of dues that has drastically been increased. I moved my Blue Lodge membersip from GA to TX a few years ago since I now permanently live here (I was raised In GA while in Military). I now have a Endowed membership in my local Lodge. I also joined...
