I read it long before I petitioned. So far (I'm only an EA) it doesn't seem to have spoiled anything any more than a history channel show about Freemasons would. Bear in mind though, it is highly speculative and makes a fair share of historical leaps that many disagree with. A good read still.

I chose the working tools as my avatar. This was something that was published openly (even on the bookmark/card of our district deputy GM) so ai think that type of thing would be acceptable. I don't recall a 'symbol' of an EA, though.
